On behalf of the entire Good Luck Macbeth staff, board, and the dedicated volunteers that work with us on every show, we hope that this message finds you healthy and happy as we all navigate the current situation and this new world. As I’m sure you are aware, on March 13th we decided, in consultation and unity with Bruka and Reno Little Theater, to temporarily close our doors. We will now be extending the closure through April based on municipal, state, and federal recommendations.
Since then, we have been working diligently to ensure the continued operations of Good Luck Macbeth and to determine how to move forward with our 2020 season. Unfortunately, we have to announce the cancellation of the next production in our 2020 season, The Revolutionists. This was a really difficult decision to make. We love this show. We love what it stands for; the inspiring themes of perseverance, equality, and revolution are messages our community need right now. However, given the current situation, we feel it is in the best interests of the safety and well-being of the cast and crew, and to ensure the highest artistic quality possible for the production, to postpone the production. At present we simply cannot rehearse the show and be ready to open on May 1st. We are still committed to producing The Revolutionists with an all-female identifying cast and crew, and so we will be moving the show into our 2021 season. We press forward mindfully and with a steady resolve. We know that Art changes; it changes lives, heart, minds, and culture. We know that Art will shift and evolve with all that is happening in our world, and we will evolve with it. No matter the distance between us right now, we know that Art will continue to connect us, and uplift us, during these times.
